Hogue Leads Cross-Country At UNA Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Samford's McKenzie Hogue garnered a top-10 finish as both the Bulldog men's and women's cross-country teams competed at the UNC Showcase Friday morning.

The women's team finished 10^th in the 5000-meter run and the men came in 21^st in the 8000-meter run.

Hogue led the Samford women's team with a time of 16:56.69, placing 10^th out of 384 runners. Harper McGowan came in 57^th with a time of 18:03.14, while Ashley Walker placed 64^th, running the race in 18:09.80.

Jeb Jones finished 69^th out of 360 runners in the men's race with a time of 24:48.30. Andrew McGinnis came in 138^th at 25:38.50, while Jackson Merrell placed 156^th with a time of 25:55.86.

Samford will next compete in the Louisville Cross-Country Classic on Oct. 1.
