SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Senior first baseman Stephen Klein was announced as the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Klein batted .625 (10-16) over four games last week, scoring 10 runs, driving in nine, and clubbing four home runs. He also compiled a 1.375 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base clip for an OPS of 2.075.
The Metarie, La. native posted video-game numbers in the Bulldogs' three-game series at ETSU to open SoCon play this past weekend, going 10-13 while blasting all four of his home runs and logging all nine RBI. Klein tallied three hits in all three games, including a four-hit effort in the Bulldogs' 14-6 win in game two. Klein also homered in all three games, with a two-homer performance in the Bulldogs' 17-12 setback in the series finale.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday, March 28 when they travel to Mississippi State for a 6:00 p.m. (CST) midweek contest.
