SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place the Wofford Invitational, held at the Country Club of Spartanburg (Par 71, 6,703 yards) Monday and Tuesday.
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 857 (284-288-285), to tie 31
st-ranked USC Aiken for seventh place in the 17-team field. Chattanooga, ranked 49
th in the Golf Stat rankings, won the tournament with a final tally of 809 (269-275-265).
Samford was led individually by
Brian Boles with a three-round score of 211 (69-73-69), tying for 14
th in the 90-player field.
Matthew Smith tied for 19
th with a final score of 212 (74-68-70), while
Andrew Sullivan finished with a 221 (77-72-72), tying for 56
th.
Davis Woodliff tied for 65
th at 222 (69-75-78), while
Dylan Moncus tied for 68
th with a final score of 223 (72-77-74).
Samford will next compete in the Tunica National Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State, in Tunica, Miss., April 17-18. The SoCon Championships will be held April 23-25, in Greensboro, Ga.
