BOCA RATON, FLA. – Samford sophomore
Gavin Isbell finished second and the Samford men's golf team placed eighth in the Florida Atlantic Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday in West Palm Beach, FL. The invitational ended after two rounds due to inclement weather.
Samford finished with a two-round team score of 580 (289-291) to finish eighth in the 16-team event. Tarleton State won the shortened tournament with a final score of 558 (276-282).
Gavin Isbell led all Samford players, placing 2nd in the 88-player field with a two-round score of 137 (67-70). Andrew Ferworn from North Alabama finished ahead of Isbell with a score of 136 after day one.
This was Samford's last fall tournament until the spring season.
