KILLEN, Ala. – The Samford men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Turtle Point Invite held Monday and Tuesday at the Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club.
 
Samford finished with a three-round total of 878 (295-296-287) to place fourth in the 10-team field. The Samford "B" team finished 10th at 913 (311-295-307). The host school, North Alabama, won the event with a final score of 839 (280-280-279).
 
Samford's main playing five was led by Garrison Guthrie, who tied for seventh in the 70-player field with a three-round score of 210 (70-68-72). Damin Strydom tied for 28^th with a score of 219 (74-75-70), while Taylor Kuehn tied for 38^th at 223 (76-76-71). Gavin Isbell tied for 48^th at 227 (77-76-74), while Matthew Smith tied for 55^th at 231 (79-75-77).
 
The Samford "B" team was led by Tiaan Hugo with a final score of 227 (80-71-76). Blake Gayles finished in a tie for 50^th at 228 (80-73-75), while Brian Boles tied for 52^nd at 229 (76-74-79). Craig Sanders (79-77-77) and Nolen Wolfe (76-77-80) both tied for 60^th with identical scores of 233.
 
The tournament wraps up the fall portion of the Bulldogs' season. Samford will open its spring season at the Wexford Intercollegiate, Feb. 17-18.
