SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford men's golf team finished 11
th at the Wofford Invitational, held Sunday through Tuesday at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
Samford finished with a three-round team score of 33-over-par 885 (291-300-294) to place 11
th in the 13-team field. USCA won the event with a final score of 840 (280-280-280).
Individually for Samford,
Gavin Isbell finished in a tie for 12
th in the 88-player field, firing a three-round score of one-under-par 212 (68-73-71).
Matthew Smith, playing as an individual with his score not counting toward the team total, tied for 38
th at 220 (67-77-76).
Jack Mikesell tied for 46
th with a three-round score of 222 (71-77-74), while
Blake Gayles tied for 55
th at 225 (74-75-76).
Campbell Sciortino finished 65
th with a final score of 228 (78-75-75), while
Tiaan Hugo tied for 77
th at 231 (78-79-74).
Next up, Samford will compete in the Southern Conference Championships, April 27-29, in Columbia, S.C.
