NEWTON, N.C. – The Samford men's golf team placed fifth at the Wofford Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Catawba Country Club (Par 70, 6,683 yards).
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 865 (291-291-283) to place fifth in the 13-team field. South Carolina won the tournament with a final score of 846 (284-286-276).
Samford's playing five was led by
Davis Woodliff, tying for third in the 81-player field with a final score of 209 (71-69-69).
Andrew Sullivan tied for 26
th at 219 (77-72-70), while
Taylor Kuehn tied for 34
th at 220 (69-76-75).
Damin Strydom tied for 37
th with a score of 221 (69-76-75), while
Matthew Smith tied for 61
st with a score of 226 (76-78-72).
Nolen Wolfe, playing as an individual, tied for 65
th at 227 (75-76-76).
Samford will next compete at the Southern Conference Championship, set for April 21-23 in Greensboro, Ga.
