SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford sophomore goalkeeper
Peyton Hull was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the fourth time this season Hull has been named Defensive Player of the Week as she previously earned the honor on Sept. 9, Sept. 16 and Sept. 23.
Hull produced two shutouts last week, saving a total of 12 shots without allowing a goal. The two shutouts bring her season total to 10, which is tied for second in the nation.
In Thursday night's 3-0 win at Mercer, Hull saved six shots in leading the Bulldogs to the win. She then had six more saves in Sunday's 3-0 win over ETSU, which clinched at least a share of the SoCon regular season title.
Samford will wrap up its regular season by playing at UNC Greensboro on Sunday, Oct. 26. The game is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start from Greensboro, N.C.
