GREENSBORO, Ga. – The Samford men's golf team moved up to sixth after the second day of the Southern Conference Championship held Monday at Reynolds Lake Oconee (Par 72, 7,393 yards).
 
The team has a two-round score of one-over-par 577 (289-288) to sit in sixth place in the eight-team event. ETSU and UNC Greensboro are both tied for first with identical two-round scores of 562.
 
Matthew Smith shot a four-under-par 68 on Monday to move into a tie for 11^th at 142 (74-68) in the 40-player event. Garrison Guthrie is also tied for 11^th at 142 (71-71). Gavin Isbell is tied for 27^th with a two-round score of 146 (72-74). Tiaan Hugo is tied for 30^th at 147 (72-75), while Damin Strydom is in 36^th at 151 (74-77).
