ONEONTA, ALA. – The Samford men's golf team placed eighth in the Graeme McDowell Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday in Oneonta, Ala.
 
Samford finished with a three-round team score of 862 (290-289-283) to finish eighth in the 13-team event.  North Alabama won the tournament with a final score of 842 (281-282-279).
 
Gavin Isbell led all Samford players, placing 17^th in the 75-player field with a three-round score of 212 (73-70-69). Isbell tied with three other golfers from Lipscomb, UAB and Central Arkansas.
Matthew Smith tied for 31^st with a final score of 217 (72-76-69), while Jack Mikesell and Campbell Sciortino tied for 33^rd with a total score of 218. 

Next up, Samford will compete in the Carolina Cup, September 28-30, in Spartanburg, S.C.
