GAME NOTES -- SAMFORD at ETSU (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -
The Samford men's basketball team hits the road tomorrow to face off against first-place Southern Conference side ETSU. Both sides enter on four-game winning streaks as Samford sits at 14-12 and the Bucs sit at 19-7. Tip is scheduled for 11 a.m.Central time.

Samford and ETSU are meeting for the 27th time, with the Buccaneers holding a 19-7 series lead. The Bucs defeated Samford in a thriller, with a late basket, 76-75, when the two sides met in Birmingham earlier this season.

The Bulldogs are on a four-game winning streak in the conference after defeating Western Carolina, The Citadel, Mercer, and Wofford. Samford is coming off a 97-80 win over Wofford on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs are winning by an average of 16 points per game over their last four contests. Jadin Booth led the Bulldogs with 25 points, going 9-of-13 from the floor and knocking down six three-pointers. Cade Norris had a career offensive game as he scored a best of 17 points, going 7-of-10 from the floor against Wofford.

As a team, the Dogs shot a season-best 63 percent from the floor and 52 percent from three against the Terriers. The Dogs are in a tie for fourth in the conference after defeating the number two and three teams in consecutive games and face an ETSU side that sits in first place. Samford is led by guard Jadin Booth, who leads the nation in both three-pointers made (96) and three-pointers per game (4.0). His 20.9 points per game average is best in the SoCon and 17th nationally.

ETSU enters the game with a 19-7 record on the season and is 11-2 in SoCon play. The Bucs are coming off a 73-61 victory against Chattanooga in their last game. ETSU sits atop the SoCon, two games clear of Wofford in second. Head coach Brooks Savage is in his third season at ETSU, leading the Bucs to 19-win campaigns in his first two years. ETSU was picked to finish 4th in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll. They have three players who average double figures, led by Cam Morris III, who scores 14.5 ppg.
