BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford baseball team has seen no shortage of representation in collegiate summer baseball leagues in 2022, with a total of 20 current or future Bulldogs competing on 12 teams across eight different leagues.

Cole Fryman and Matthew Strand of the North Palm Beach Flamingos were both named starters on the Collegiate League of the Palm Beaches (CLPB) North Division team. Fryman is currently batting .289 with 11 runs batted in while posting a 1.58 earned run average in 17 innings pitched. Strand has driven in nine runs on nine hits to go along with a .400 on-base percentage.
 
Bulldog signee Jayden Davis additionally achieved all-star status with his selection to the north squad of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate Baseball League. Through 25 games for the Lima Locos, Davis is batting .344 with 33 base hits, 18 runs batted in, and a team-high seven doubles.
 
Andrew Bennett has recorded 27 hits in 28 contests for the Staunton Braves of the Valley Baseball League, in addition to scoring 17 runs and driving in 11. Michael Hopkinson leads the North Palm Beach Flamingos with 18 base hits in 24 games, to go along with a .290 batting average and 10 runs scored.
 
On the mound, Jacob Cravey has posted a 3.63 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 22.1 innings of work for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Michael Ross has struck out 27 batters over 27 innings for the Keene Swamp Bats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League while Carson Hobbs owns a 3.75 ERA with 16 punch outs and a pair of saves for the Waynesboro Generals of the Valley Baseball League. Newcomer Turner Thompson is holding opposing batters to a .148 average for the Danville Otterbots of the Appalachian League while having struck out 27 in 16 innings.
