SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior outside hitter Ally Cordes was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly volleyball awards Monday afternoon.

Cordes led Samford to a 3-2 win over Mercer Saturday night with 22 kills. She also had 13 kills in the Bulldogs other victory against The Citadel. For the two matches over the weekend, Cordes had 35 kills, 16 digs and two service aces.

Next up, Samford will host Furman on Thursday, Oct. 23. The match is set for a 6:30 p.m. start from the Pete Hanna Center and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
