TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Samford women's cross-country team placed sixth in the middle of a stellar field as both the men's and women's teams competed in the Crimson Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama Friday morning at the Harry Pritchett Running Course.
 
The women's team placed sixth, finishing ahead of Power 4 teams Tennessee and Georgia. Samford was the highest placing non-Power 4 team, with the top five teams being Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Clemson. The Bulldogs finished with 151 points, while Alabama won the event with 28 points.
 
Individual leaders for the Bulldog women's team were Adeline Haisch, placing 15^th out of 189 runners with a time of 20:23.6 and Sinkenesh Parker coming in 33^rd with a time of 20:42.6. Edie Smith came in 40^th, running the race in 20:47.7. Felicity Hamilton finished 41^st at 20:48.4, while Katie Keller placed 47^th at 20:59.2. Macie Pfeuffer came in 82^nd with a time of 21:40.5 and Isabella Edwards finished 91^st at 21:47.9.
 
The Samford men's team placed 11^th in the event with 288 points. Alabama won the men's race with 59 points. Individually for the men's team, Andrew McGinnis finished 54^th in the 152-runner field with a time of 24:55.6. Arthur Langley placed 68^th, running the race in 25:07.7, while William Jordan came in 78^th with a time of 25:19.0. Stephen Jones finished 83^rd at 25:24.2, while David Brown came in 95^th at 25:42.4.
