Bulldogs Open Conference Play at Home against ETSU

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --Â The Samford volleyball team will open Southern Conference play with two matches at the Pete Hanna Center. Bulldogs host ETSU on Thursday and Friday night. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. for both matches.

Samford enters conference play with a record of 3-7, following going 0-2 in the Alabama Challenge last week, before earning a four-set win over UAB in the Battle of Birmingham.
Samford was led last weekend by Ally Cordes and Maggie Kalisz with 32 kills each, while Alison Ohlinger tallied 112 assists over the three matches.
Ohlinger was recently named conference Setter of the Week. So far in the season, she has 382 assists and is fourth in the conference.
Entering conference play Ally Cordes has led Samford this season with 121 digs while Hazel Slusher has led in blocks with 51.0.
Samford and ETSU will be meeting for the 29th time, with ETSU currently holding a 15-14 series lead. The teams played two times last year, and ETSU won both matches.
